Contact Gillionville Baptist Student Ministries

You are #1.
Really, you are.

Barna statistics state that the number one
influence in the student’s life is not the youth
pastor or the Sunday school teacher, but the
parent. The numbers tell us that the student
(when leaving home to enter the college or
career environment) will most likely follow
what their parents modeled in the home.

This ministry area serves to assist you
in instructing and discipling your
child in Christ. We encourage you
to do the following:

Let Us Encourage You

Follow-up with your student after Sunday School lessons, worship services, camps & retreats. Ask them to share with you what they learned and how it applies to their life.

Encourage your child to schedule in quiet, devotional time in God's Word daily. Make it a priority to share this together as a family.

Pray with your child, for spiritual growth and development, for discerning important decisions and engaging the culture around them.

Be aware of your child's peer and media decisions. Encourage healthy choices that promote Godly relationships and Godly living.

Last Session: What a great attendance and discussion this month! We continued our exploration of truth and worldview in a very important area of our life; media. We discussed our vulnerability here- where we are prone to adopt the truth-claims of the devil. We looked at the projection of secular world-view, the design and agendas in our arts and entertainment. We learned how to better discern the message behind the media and to better guard our hearts and minds.

Coming Up: Evolution. One of the most pervassive ideas of the modern scientific age. It is though, far more than a scientific theory. It is an aetheist doctrine that has far-reaching moral, social, theological implications. Every day our youth attend schools and plug into media that preach this secular world-view.

Plan to engage this stimulating discussion. Discover how one cannot reconcile Genesis 1-3 and millions and millions of years. Gain some insight into our phenomenal apologetics-base Sunday school curriculum and see what's coming up in 2012.

Our Current Study

Life in 3-D It's a supernatural Kingdom coming into a natural, fallen world. What does it look like to be a disciple of Christ? How do we engage the Kingdom personally and inter-personally? We'll look directly at the directives of Christ through the Beatitudes. His thoughts on judging and discerning, loving and the law.

Did your youth miss a session at Common Ground? No sweat! Download the podcast and notes at our Student Resource Page.
